When we look back at the spike in demand over the summer of 2023, when global restrictions were lifted after three years over the pandemic, airlines misjudged the surge, struggling to keep up with the rate of demand. Despite a heavy year of global economic decline, the summer saw substantial growth in international travel, with people prioritising making previously postponed trips. This drove airlines to temporarily grow their fleet by leasing aircraft in order to meet the high demand.
Flight bookings suggested that, by May 2023, the demand for intra-European travel and domestic flights in large countries had returned to pre-pandemic levels, while demand for international trips returned to 80% of its 2019 level. We take a look at how ACS Leasing helped airlines respond to this rapidly growing demand.
Summer success
The heightened consumer demand led to a busy aircraft leasing market, leading operators to drive the prices for their aircraft. However, thanks to decades of aviation experience and far-reaching contacts, ACS Leasing was able to secure cost-effective solutions for clients.
ACS Leasing handles every aspect of the lease, offering a mixture of wet, damp, dry, and hybrid lease contracts for numerous airlines in Africa, Asia, North America and Europe.
